Make It Monday: Thanks a Bunch Daisy Swap Card

While working on project packets for my monthly card class this weekend, I took a moment to work up a sample for our August team swap. This swap's theme is Trio Colors, and I'm finding this more of a challenge to my traditional design way of thinking. I'm discovering I'm more of a duo-color rather than a trio-color crafter. However, I enjoy a challenge, so here is a trio color card I made using the Daisy punches and Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.

What kind of paper crafter are you? Leave me a comment below!

To help balance out the multiple colors, I used a strip of die cut lace in Whisper White.

The daisies were layered with So Saffron cardstock and vellum (both unstamped) then topped with a stamped medium daisy. I accented the center of each flower with Wink of Stella glitter brush to add a little shimmer.

One of my new favorite sentiment sets is the Beautiful Bunch. So many great messages...for both inside and out! I also love how the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder adds just the right touch of texture.

To finish the card, I stamped a large leaf from the Daisy Lane stamp set inside the card.

Now It's Your Turn!
  1. Cut a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of So Saffron cardstock. Score and fold in half at 5-1/2" to create card base.
  2. Emboss a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock with Subtle 3D embossing folder and adhere to front of card base.
  3. Die cut a strip of lace with Stitched Lace dies in Whisper White. Adhere to left side of Coastal Cabana layer.
  4. Punch out the following with large and medium Daisy punches: 2 So Saffron large daisies, 2 Vellum large daisies, 2 Vellum medium daisies, and 2 stamped medium daisies (use medium daisy from Daisy Lane stamp set in So Saffron ink).
  5. Layer and adhere 2 sets of daisies to card front.
  6. Adhere a 1/2" Coastal Cabana circle to center of each daisy. Embellish with Wink of Stella glitter brush.
  7. Punch out 3 leaves with Leaf Punch in Granny Apple Green cardstock. Tuck under daisies and adhere.
  8. Stamp sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet stamp set on a stitched Whisper White oval (2nd smallest) from Stitched Shapes dies in Granny Apple Green. Adhere in upper right corner of card.
  9. Stamp large leaf from Daisy Lane stamp set in lower right corner of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock in Granny Apple Green ink. Adhere layer inside card.

Make It Monday: Beautiful Bouquet Card

I love stamp sets that have a matching verse to put on the inside. It just gives the card a beautiful finishing touch. The Beautiful Bouquet stamp set is perfect for this as it has several all occasion messages with both outside and inside sentiments.

For this week's Make It Monday, I designed a card featuring the sentiments from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and paired it with some Pressed Petals DSP and Perennial Flower punch. To add to the nature look, I used the Birch background stamp on the card base.

I layered 3 Perennial Flower punches to give the flower a fuller look. For the center of the flower, I used the starburst from the Magnolia Memory dies.

Beautiful inside message to coordinate with outside sentiment.

Now It's Your Turn!
  1. Cut and fold in half a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock for card base.
  2. Stamp Birch background on front of card base in Crumb Cake ink. (Tip: recommend using Stamparatus for better coverage since a large stamp.)
  3. Use Triple Banner Punch to cut one end of a 2" x 5" piece of Pressed Petals DSP to form a banner. Adhere toward left side of card front.
  4. Die cut a large stitched oval from Stitched Shapes dies in Petal Pink cardstock (I used 2nd largest stitched oval).
  5. Stamp sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet on oval in Rich Razzleberry ink. Adhere to center of card with Stampin' Dimensionals, slightly overlapping the banner.
  6. Punch out and layer 3 Perennial Flowers in Rich Razzleberry cardstock.
  7. Die cut small starburst from Magnolia Memory dies in So Saffron cardstock. Adhere to center of assembled flower.
  8. Adhere completed flower to lower left of sentiment oval with a Stampin' Dimensional.
  9. Stamp inside sentiment and a flower from Beautiful Bouquet stamp set on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Adhere inside card.

Make It Monday: Dino Days SIP Card

After over 12 years of stamping, I tend to forget the beauty in simple creativity. A friend recently showed me a picture of a cute birthday card he made. It reminded me of my early days of stamping...the joy in just seeing what I could do with my ink and stamps before all the cool die-cutting and embossing tools. Therefore, this week I invite you to take a SIP with me...create with (S)tamps, (I)nk, and (P)aper.

I just finished designing a Dino Days Fun Folds Class To Go (see below) so thought it would be fun to create a simple card using the Dino Days stamp set for this week's Make It Monday project.

Please share your SIP card with me! I would love to see your creativity in action!

I stamped the dinosaur in Mango Melody and sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink on a Whisper White die-cut Stitched Nested die banner (ok, you can't ask me to go cold turkey on the tools--LOL). Then I layered a Lovely Lipstick/Dinoroar strip banner for added color and pattern.

I added a 3/8" Denim Ribbon bow for accent.

To create my own background, I randomly stamped leaves from the Dino Days stamp set on the card base in Pool Party ink.

I carried the dino party inside the card with a strip of the DSP and a stamped Pterodacytl from the stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink.

Now It's Your Turn to SIP!
  1. Cut and fold in half a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Pool Party cardstock to create card base.
  2. Randomly stamp front of card base with leaves from the Dino Days stamp set in Pool Party ink.
  3. Stamp dinosaur from Dino Days stamp set on a large Whisper White Stitched Nested die banner in Mango Melody. (NOTE: You can substitute the Nested die-cut banner with 2-5/8" x 4-1/4" rectangle and diagonally snip off the ends to create your own banner.)
  4. Stamp the circular texture stamp from the Dino Days stamp set on the dinosaur in Lovely Lipstick ink.
  5. Stamp sentiment from Dino Days stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink to left of dinosaur.
  6. Adhere banner in center of card.
  7. Cut a 1" x 4-1/4" strip of Lovely Lipstick cardstock. Adhere toward top, slightly covering top of banner.
  8. Cut a 3/4" x 4-1/4" strip of Dinoroar DSP. Adhere on Lovely Lipstick strip layer.
  9. Add 3/8" Denim ribbon bow with Glue Dot for accent.
  10. Cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock for inside layer.
  11. Stamp Pterodactyl at top left of WW layer in Pretty Peacock ink. Adhere layer inside card.
  12. Cut a 3/4" strip of Dinoroar DSP. Adhere toward bottom of inside card layer.
